Goddeti Bala Krishna follows in his father’s footsteps

During marathon sessions of discussion on resolutions and political debates at the three-day Mahanadu of Telugu Desam Party, scheduled to be held here from Saturday at AU Engineering College grounds, a visit to the photo exhibition being set-up by Goddeti Bala Krishna at the venue will be a source of recreation and entertainment, especially for those who are die-hard fans of TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Mr. Bala Krishna, a resident of Kadapa, has been collecting the pictures of NTR and Chandrababu Naidu.

He has over 4,600 pictures, which include over 2,600 frames in black and white, capturing different moods of NTR, some of which are rare ones such as the TDP founder taking a bath during the founding days of ‘Chaitanya Ratham’ campaign, NTR in different moods with his family, the religious side of NTR and he as an actor.

Being an artist himself, he and his daughter Tejasri, who is also an artist, have drawn over 1,300 sketches of the Chief Minister and his family.

Long journey

The journey of photo collection started in 1982, when NTR founded the TDP. “We are the second generation on the job and so far we have attended over 13 Mahanadu’s and at every Mahanadu we have exhibited the photos. The Chief Minister has been kind to see that some space is allotted for us at the venue,” said Mr. Bala Krishna. According to Mr. Bala Krishna, the exhibition is a journey into the lives of NTR and CM through the lens. “Every aspect of their life is captured. And we are still collecting them and we wish to put the stall in every upcoming Mahanadu in future,” he said.
