This summer, adventure camping and an experience that lets you try out something new seem to be the new flavour. To inculcate an experiential style of learning through camping and other activities, Protégé is organising ‘Summer Adventura’, a four-day-three-night outdoor and adventure summer camp, from May 4 to 7 at Salsons Retreat, Thatipudi. The summer camp is open for children in the age group eight to 17 years.
“The outdoor summer camp gives children the opportunity to connect with the natural world and learn a set of behavioural and life skills. The camp will also enable the participants to adapt to a team environment to accomplish challenges as a team,” said Joel S. Godi, founder of Protégé. The activities in the camp include nature and adventure based learning, experiential learning activities and personality development activities. The camp will have four trainers and two helpers.

For those looking for more challenging outdoor camps, Youth Hostel Association of India is organising a series of summer camps in the lap of mountains. Its national adventure family camp at Srinagar, Kashmir, begins from May 1. It is a four-night-five-day camp in which parents with two children up to the age of 12 years can participate with a total fee of ₹ 5,250.
Its Himalayan nature study cum trekking expedition at Dobhi (Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh) is specially designed for students of age group 10 to 15 years. The camp includes trekking, rock climbing and snow gliding among other educational activities. One teacher or escort will be accompanying a group of 10 students. The eight nights and seven days camp starts from April 27 and ends on May 31. The participation fee per head is ₹ 3,675.
