In line with the theme of the Rotary International for the year 2012-13 – Peace through Service – immediate past president of the Rotary Club Waltair T. Baburaj is undertaking an ambitious world adventure expedition of 56,000 km across 52 countries in six continents on a motorcycle. The expedition was flagged off from here on Wednesday.
The Rotary World Rider Expedition is divided into five phases. In the first leg Baburaj is travelling along with Rotary community corp Marri Satyanarayana to Bhutan on Indian-built motorcycle TVS Apache 180 RTR. The theme of the expedition is Reach Community and Teach Humanity & Peace Through Service, according to president of Rotary Club Waltair Usharani Atluri.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday she said that the Rotary team will be travelling 2,000 km inside Bhutan from West to East studying the tribal life in Bhutan. YMCA national president P.P. Roland Williams has extended support to the expedition by undertaking the logistic support in all the countries that the team is travelling.

Bhutan has weather conditions that range from the sub-tropical to sub-Alpine with some peaks exceeding 7,000 metres (23,000 feet). The Home Minister of Bhutan is the charter president of Bhutan Rotary Club in Thimpu, and there are 36 Rotary clubs in the country, past governor of Rotary Club Kishore said.
Later, the members of the Rotary Club Waltair along with president of YMCA Visakhapatnam Sam Cherian Karuvely, regional marketing manager of TVS and others flagged off Baburaj.
