NTPC employees give aid to Hudhud-hit contract workers

Funds collected from the employees were distributed among Hudhud-affected contract workers engaged by different agencies in NTPC Simhadri on Thursday.

The team headed by Assistant General Manager (Field Quality Assurance) G.R. Rengarajan collected Rs. 4.60 lakh. The amount was distributed to 253 victims of Hudhud through bank transfer by Group General Manager A.K. Samanta.

Mr. Samanta handed over the cheque to SBH Branch Manager (Deepanjalinagar) Binod Kumar. Simhadri General Manager (Project) Santosh James, AGM (Finance) K.V. Prasad, GM (Fuel Handling) R.P.J. Stephen and leaders of various unions and officers’ welfare association.

Sewing machines

The company later distributed 180 sewing machines worth Rs. 7.84 lakh to women of neighbouring villages under its CSR activity.

At a meeting held at Samyukta Function Hall, Mr. Samanta handed over the machines to women in presence of sarpanches and key stakeholders. In order to empower women of its neighbouring villages, NTPC Simhadri had organised tailoring course in association with Jan Shikshan Sansthan in six villages.

AGM (HR) K.S.Murthy, DGM (CSR) K.K.M. Naidu, director of Jan Shikshan Sansthan Satyanarayana were present.
