NBW issued against father of Rajamouli

The Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate’s Court at Elamanchili on Friday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against screenwriter and Telugu movie director Vijayendra Prasad, father of noted director S.S. Rajamouli, in connection with a cheque bounce case.

The cheque bounce case was filed by YSR Congress leader and also a film producer Chengala Venkata Rao after two cheques for Rs.60 lakh bounced. Mr. Chengala Venkata Rao, who is also a former MLA, had given Rs.60 lakh to Mr. Prasad, a few years ago, to write a movie script. Mr. Prasad failed to complete the work and the producer sought repayment of the amount.

Mr. Prasad had given two cheques for the amount to Mr. Venkata Rao, a year ago and the cheques bounced. When Mr. Prasad failed to respond to its notices, the court issued an NBW against Mr. Prasad for his continuous non-appearance in court.
