The 12-day annual All India Nau Sainik Camp 2013 (AINSC-2013) is scheduled to begin here on January 7.
The annual feature that has been rescheduled due to Phailin cyclone that hit the Odisha coast on October 12, is now being conducted on the campus of the erstwhile Naval Maritime Academy (NAMAC) at Visakhapatnam, Camp Commandant Commodore M Dimri told media persons here on Friday.
A total of 590 cadets, 204 girls and 386 boys, selected from 17 directorates of NCC across the country are attending the AINSC 2013. This year the number of girl cadets has been increased to empower the girls.

The camp is an annual feature of the NCC training calendar and provides an opportunity for naval NCC cadets from all over India to interact and promote esprit de corps and national integration.
The cadets representing various directorates will compete in the fields of firing, boat pulling, ship modelling, drill, semaphore, service subjects and seamanship as part of the NCC ethos of inculcating a healthy competitive spirit amongst its cadets. Apart from individual prizes and team trophies in all the events, the cadets will compete to help their directorate bag the Best Directorate Trophy.
