My defeat was a conspiracy: G. Ramanaidu

Adari Tulasi Rao, who commands respect in Visakha Dairy, worked for my defeat at the hands of YSRC candidate

Unable to digest the defeat at the hands of YSR Congress candidate in V Madugula Assembly segment in the general elections, TDP Visakhapatnam rural president Gavireddy Ramanaidu has attributed it to “conspiracy.”

Addressing the media at the party office here on Thursday, Mr. Ramanaidu said the party’s victory was a foregone conclusion in the constituency, as all surveys and intelligence reports had pointed to that.

Mr. Ramanaidu said he had worked hard in the constituency and enjoyed good rapport with the voters. “I was looking forward to winning the election and usher in development in the backward region,” he said.

Mr. Ramanaidu alleged that his electoral chances were sabotaged by senior party leaders. Party workers were instructed, bribed, and blackmailed to work for his defeat, Mr. Ramanaidu charged.

He singled out his mentor and senior leader Adari Tulasi Rao, who commands respect for being in control of Visakha Dairy for over three decades, for working for his defeat at the hands of YSRC candidate Budi Muthyala Naidu.

Mr. Ramanaidu said that Mr. Tulasi Rao had directed Visakha Dairy workers, employees, and officers hailing from V Madugula constituency to ensure his defeat.

“The employees were told that they would lose their jobs if they allowed me to win,” Mr. Ramanaidu alleged.

Action sought

Earlier, TDP workers from V Madugula, who met at the party office, passed a single line resolution urging party president N. Chandrababu Naidu to initiate disciplinary action against Mr. Tulasi Rao.
