A nine-foot-high majestic nandi would soon adorn the premises of a software development company in the city along with a number of other works by city-based G. V. Ramana Murthy.

The majestic fibreglass Nandi is seated cosily with its legs folded under it. The sculpture is so realistic that even the hoofs are folded turned upwards. Ramana Murthy has taken pains to highlight every detail including the bells and other jewellery that adorn the animal.

The sculpture is nine feet high, 16 feet long and eight feet across. It has been modelled on the monolithic statue of Nandi in Lepakshi in Anantapur district, Ramana Murthy said. The Nandi is a part of the theme of Andhra Pradesh that would be showcased at the workplace.

Other fibreglass panels in the series include one on Undavalli Caves, Kurnool Burj and Andhra University. A panel with tribal women performing traditional Dhimsa is a part of a mural depicting the Araku hills and the life on it.

Soon when you walk into the office of the Tech Mahindra in the city you would be greeted a software professional carrying a laptop bag and walking towards you. Suddenly you would realise that the man in the sculpture does not have a torso. Though incomplete the balance image gives an impression of being complete with the background filling in the gaps.
