Mantra chanting helps achieve eternal peace: Jain Muni

‘Of late, it is gaining popularity in western countries’

Jains chanting mantras at a programme organised in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

Jains in large numbers took part in a mantra chanting programme organised by Terapanth Yuvak Parishad (TYP) here on Sunday.

“There is a special place for mantra in Jain dharm. Many acharyas and Jain saints have made many mantras for various purposes. Bhaktambar stotra is one of the very powerful mantras in Jain dharm which was compiled by Acharya Mangtung praising the first Jain Tirthankar (lord) Rishi Dev,” spokesman for the organisers said.

Muni Arhat Kumar attended the programme at Rajasthani Sankskrit Mandal.

He said that every word/letter could become a mantra if chanted in a proper manner. He said chanting mantras would enable achieving eternal peace and harmony.

“This type of mantra chanting is of late gaining popularity in western countries where they are trying to cure many chronic diseases.” He called for creating awareness about chanting mantras.

Jain Muni Bharat Kumar said that with the help of mantra one could preach and bring love, harmony, peace and respect among fellow human beings.

Young Muni Jaideep Kumar said that one should try to find out his inner strength rather than looking and running after outside enjoyment. He said with inner strength human beings could do many wonders.

TYP president Ajay Bengani and coordinator Sandeep Sethia were present.
