Telugu Desam Party, district committee, has said that it would cooperate with the ruling party if liquor is sold at MRP, close belt shops, observe timings strictly and make public names of leaders listed by sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau.
The party had been protesting relentlessly against sale of liquor over and above MRP for the past few days.
At a press conference on Saturday, the party district president Dwarapureddy Jagadish took exception to the ‘loose talk' by the DCC incharge president K. Veerabhdra Swamy on ‘development of fort town'. Whether Mr. Swamy, in the capacity of DCC president, ever visited drought-hit mandals, enquired about drinking water problem in rural areas and fee reimbursement of students, he asked. He said that the opposition parties would always point out mistakes of the ruling party and demand rectification of the system.

Excise policy
“The ruling party now has a responsibility to strictly implement the Excise policy.” But, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana was blaming people for consuming liquor. He said that the TDP would declare list of shops owned by its leaders and sought action against them if they were violating government guidelines. The party district general secretary I.V.P. Raju said that there was nothing wrong doing business but, at the same time, one must adhere to the laid down norms.
He said that except in the fort town nowhere in the district liquor was being sold at MRP. The party leaders K.A. Naidu, P. Ramakrishna and others were present.
