“If you do your work honestly and earnestly, you will enjoy every bit of it,” said Capt. Suresh Sharma, wildlife and nature photographer who bid adieu to the Indian Army to follow his passion in photography and nature conservation.
He was speaking at a programme organised by Vishakha Camera Club in association with Rotary Club, Visakhapatnam, at Hawa Mahal on the eve of World Photography Day here on Friday.
“Today, people are so enamoured by gadgets and social media that they have very less time to spend outdoors.

As responsible parents, we must let our children explore outdoors and only then they will understand the issue of climate change, how to make the world a better place and conserve nature,” he said.
Giving a presentation of his photography works, he stressed on the critical role photography plays in nature conservation. Capt. Sharma custom-built a caravan 14 years ago for his travel and photography passion called ‘King Cobra’ and clocked over 1.25 lakh kms traversing through remote places of the country, capturing the beauty of nature and cultures.
To raise funds for his nature conservation works, he later conceived the Green Dot Expeditions wherein he takes photography enthusiasts to Ladakh and Rajasthan in a first-of-its-kind overland truck called Taurus.

He has numerous published works to his credit including two coffee table - ‘The Indian Army, An Illustrative Overview’ and ‘Legacy of a Legend - MiG 21 in the Indian Air Force’. He along with his wife Rajbir Kaur live in Chandigarh and work towards nature conservation through photography and tourism
