Left unity is top priority, says Raghavulu

Left unity is high on priority and that is why leaders of other Left parties will be speaking at the inaugural of the CPI(M) 21st All India Conference, CPI(M) Politburo member B. V. Raghavulu told the media here on Sunday.

“The Left parties have been working together on most issues in the combined Andhra Pradesh and this would now be extended to the national level,” he said.

The party cadre from both the states together have raised funds from working class people and there are a few who have contributed as much as a month’s wages to the party fund to meet the expenses.

The organising committee comprises from both states, he said.

There is a need for introspection and analysis of the rout of the Left parties in many states.

There is a need to adopt changing technologies like social media to connect with the general public, especially the youth, he said.

All these apart from party tactical line and ideological line would be discussed threadbare at the meet.

The party’s performance over the last 25 years would be discussed.

Left parties are the only ones that really serve the interests of the poor and if they do not come together it is the people who would lose, he said.

CPI(M) State general secretary P. Madhu, State executive member Ch. Narasinga Rao, and covenor media committee G S Rajeswara Rao were present.
