The Three Town Police, MVP Zone, arrested a person here on Thursday on the charge of duping B.Tech students and job aspirants.

The police said that three persons — Berram Narendra Reddy of Kadapa, Chandrasekhar of Hyderabad, and Vamsi of Sullurpeta — launched two companies — NS Orien Care Private Limited and G4S Consultancy — in the MVP Double Road area in August this year.

While Narendra Reddy was MD of Orien Care, Chandrasekhar and Vamsi acted as owners of the consultancy firm.

In reality, all the three were friends and they hatched a plan to dupe job seekers, the police said.

Through advertisements, Chandrasekhar and Vamsi allegedly promised gullible people jobs in Orien Care, which was located on the first floor of the same building. They informed the candidates that they would be paid Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 14,000 as salary during the one month training period.

Meanwhile, Narendra Reddy gave offer letters to the selected candidates and asked them to pay Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 30,000 to the consultancy firm as fee.

Believing him, 82 candidates paid a total fee of Rs. 12.77 lakh.

The scam came to light after the candidates did not receive the promised salary. They got suspicious and lodged a complaint with the police.

The police arrested Narendra Reddy and seized 18 monitors, a laptop, agreement papers, rubber stamps, and a mobile phone.

Investigation is on and a manhunt has been launched for Vamsi and Chandrasekhar.
