‘Issue voter ID cards within a month'

Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal asked the district officials to issue voter identity cards to eligible voters within one month.

While reviewing the distribution of voter ID cards to eligible citizens, he asked the district administration to complete the task within one month.

According to him, around 70 per cent of the population will be above 18 years of age and eligible to get voter ID cards.

Mr. Bhanwarlal also asked them to avoid duplication and delay in completing the task.

Srikakulam district Collector G. Venkatram Reddy said as many as 2,529 persons had been appointed to oversee the distribution of voter ID cards. He assured Bhanwarlal that the entire process would be completed within one month with the support of all the staff.

Srikakulam Revenue Divisional Officer M.Venkateswara Rao, Revenue Divisional Officers N.Satyanarayana, B.Balasubramanyam, Visweswara Rao and others also participated in the review meeting.
