One Town police busted a gang of four members involved in four house-breaking cases in Duvvada area, here on Tuesday. The arrested include Boddu Satiraju (25) and Karatili Kumar (24) of Rajeev Nagar and two juveniles.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) J. Muralidhar, based on a tipoff from the members of One Town Gold Merchant Association, a team from One Town police led by Sub-Inspector M. Ratna Rao arrested the members of the gang.
A couple of days ago, the crime branch had held a meeting with the association members and urged them to give information on suspects , and this arrest was a result of that meeting, said the DCP. “The gang had gone to dispose of the stolen material and the information was passed on to the police,” said the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) S. Varada Raju.

The gang had committed one offence in December 2013, and the other three during this year. The police also recovered all the stolen property comprising 210 gm of gold and 160 gm of silver ornaments and two cameras.
According to Mr. Muralidhar, all the four are school dropouts, hail from economically backward families, were steeped into bad vices and did not have any past crime record.
While the majors were sent in remand, the juveniles were handed over to juvenile home.
