Gold merchants to close shops today

All gold shops in the city will remain closed on Friday as a mark of respect to the Vaibhav Group Chairman Grandhi Manoj Kumar who was murdered in Bangalore.

Manoj had a carved a niche for himself at a young age, by establishing gold showrooms and earning the goodwill of customers, according to a statement issued the Visakhapatnam Gold Merchants Association on Thursday. The association members conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

The Vizagapatam Cloth Merchants Association condemned the gruesome murder of Manoj. Association secretary Hameed Khan said that a decision was taken to close all textile shops in the city till 2 p.m. on Friday to condole the death.
