Baburao Naidu to give priority to field-based work

Focus will be on resource mobilisation and completing around 10 of the ongoing 27 major projects, VUDA Vice-Chairman T. Baburao Naidu has said.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, the first after his assuming charge, he said a cost-benefit analysis would be taken up first and efforts made to improve revenue at the same time getting good cost benefit ratio and taking judicious decisions on expenditure.

He would hold an interdepartmental coordination meeting every Monday and a meeting with VUDA’s engineering officials on Saturday to expedite various works including Harita and the Master Plan roads.

The land of VUDA would be surveyed and geo-tagging taken up to protect them.

Inventory of VUDA properties prepared. To prevent missing of files as well as their early disposal file movement would be monitored.

Recalling that a long-standing land dispute involving tribal and non-tribal people was settled in Polavaram during his stint as Joint Collector in West Godavari, Mr. Naidu said he would give priority to field-based work rather than being office-bound.

Answering questions, he said the decision to allot housing plots on draw of lots ending the process of auction that attracted much criticism was that of VUDA Board.

The list of approved layouts would be displayed and kept online to help prospective buyers make a good choice. Chief Engineer B. Jayarami Reddy and Secretary G.C. Kishore Kumar were present.
