A one-day meet to address the problems faced by ex-servicemen and their families will be held at the Zilla Sainik Welfare Office in Maharanipeta in the city at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The meeting will be chaired by Commodore M.V.S. Kumar, Principal Director, Ex-Servicemen Affairs, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy), New Delhi. With 2012 being celebrated as the Year of the Ex-Serviceman, the emphasis at the meet will be on reaching out to the community and apprising them of the new facilities at their disposal such as Pension Help Desk, grievance redressal forum, employment opportunities and training schemes available.
