Ensure success of Visakha Utsav: Collector

Committees formed for smooth conduct of the festival

District Collector Pravin Kumar presiding over the steering committee meeting of Visakha Utsav, in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

District Collector Pravin Kumar has said that various committees have been formed to ensure smooth conduct of the three-day Visakha Utsav from December 28.

At the steering committee meeting of Visakha Utsav here on Wednesday, the Collector advised the officials of all departments to work in coordination for the success of the festival.

The officials in charge of various working committees should ensure that there were no lapses in the arrangements for the works entrusted to them.

They should ensure that tourists and visitors coming for the festival were not inconvenienced in any manner.

The Collector would be the Steering Committee Chairman and VMRDA Commissioner P. Basanth Kumar and GVMC Commissioner M. Harinarayanan and Joint Collector G. Srijana would be the Co-Chairpersons.

Conveners

Joint Collector-2 A. Siri and Regional Director of Tourism Radhakrishna Murthy would be the conveners and District Tourism Officer R. Purnima Devi would be the treasurer.

DWMA PD B. Dayanidhi would be the in charge of Jaatara, at Pothinamallayya Palem., where cultural programmes and folk events would be held and VMRDA secretary A. Srinivas would be in charge at the Central Park.
