A 21-year-old, third-year engineering student of VITS Engineering College, Sontyam, reportedly had gone missing after he had gone for a swim in the Meghadrigedda reservoir here on Saturday morning. The student identified as Joga Sreekant, a native of Chodavaram, went for swimming in the reservoir along with five other friends in the morning.
According to Pendurthi police station Inspector Lakshman Murthy, two of the friends went into the water. While one swam to safety, Sreekant reportedly drowned. The police have deployed a team of swimmers to trace him.
