The Eastern Naval Command, which launched the city’s own marathon event last year as part of the Navy Week celebrations, has stepped up its campaign to make it popular among all categories of people and ensure greater participation in the second edition.

On Saturday morning, the fitness brigade of the city who regularly take a walk on the Beach Road were flashed by a bunch of teenagers who broke into an impromptu jig near the Kalimatha temple drawing the attention to the forthcoming Vizag Navy marathon. Later, the fitness conscious walkers were shown a Zumba dance routine.

The health conscious citizens were invited to register their names for the city’s own marathon event and application forms were made available for offline registration. For online registration and details look upwww.vizagmarathons.com.
