Compared to last year the number of applications received for engineering stream of Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test was lesser by 7,000 and it was 8,000 more for the medicine and agriculture part.
A total of 3,95,600 have registered themselves for EAMCET 2014, to be held at 750 centres across the State on May 22, Convener of the test N.V. Ramana Rao informed at a press conference here on Thursday.
Out of them, 2,82,800 are for engineering stream and 1,12,800 for agriculture and medicine stream. Engineering test will be held, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 523 centres and agriculture and medicine test, from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., at 227 centres.

Around 25 test centres were put under the scanner and 300 candidates, who are repeatedly appearing for the test or who are already doing engineering or some other courses, were being watched closely following detection of use of high tech gadgets and fraud in EAMCET during previous years.
Details of about 300 candidates were given to the Intelligence wing of the Police Department. Additional vigilance was provided with enforcement officials allotted to the centres conducting the agriculture and medicine stream examination.
This year qualified candidates of the residual AP or the new State of Telangana can seek admission in either of the States.

Regional Coordinator of EAMCET 2014 K. Venkatasubbaiah informed that 25,355 candidates (18,976 in engineering stream and 6,379 in agriculture and medicine stream) are in Visakhapatnam Region. The engineering stream test will be held at 36 centres and the agriculture and medicine stream test at 13 centres.
Prof. Ramana Rao conducted an orientation programme for Chief Superintendents of the examination centres and Observers. Hyderabad’s Regional Coordinator P. Srinivasa Rao was also present.
