Derailment hits train services

Mangled bogies of Khurda-bound goods train carrying fertilizer from Kakinada that derailed between Garividi and Chipurapalli sections on Monday.

Derailment of a Khurda-bound goods train between Garividi and Cheepurupalli stations of Visakhapatnam-Palasa section hit train services on Monday.

Trains were either cancelled or short terminated or diverted.

A railway spokesman said track restoration work was going on a war-footing.

Short terminated trains

Train No 18411 Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam Intercity Express leaving Bhubaneswar on Monday was short terminated at Srikakulam Road and was being run as 18412 Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar Intercity from Srikakulam Road.

Train No 58525 Palasa-Visakhapatnam passenger leaving Palasa on Monday was short terminated at Srikakulam Road.

Train No 58505 Gunupur-Visakhapatnam Passenger leaving Gunupur on Monday was short terminated at Naupada.

Cancellation of trains

The cancelled list includes train No 67293 Palasa-Visakhapatnam MEMU leaving Palasa and train No. 67296 Visakhapatnam-Rajahmundry MEMU leaving Visakhapatnam on Monday were cancelled.

Diversion of trains

Train No 18495 Rameswaram-Bhubaneswar Express reaching Bhubaneswar on Monday was diverted to run via Rayagada, Titlagarh, Angul, and Bhubaneswar.

Train No. 12840 Chennai Central-Howrah Mail express passing Visakhapatnam on Monday was diverted to run via Rayagada, Titlagarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Kharagpur.
