A roundtable organised by Poura Grandhalaya Seva Samiti (PGSS) and People for India Forum (PIF) here on Thursday chalked out a plan of action to press for construction of building for the District Central Library. PGSS president B.L. Narayana proposed the action plan.
Ending the travails of readers, construction of its own building for the library should begin on its own site at Maharanipeta, former Union Energy Secretary E A S Sarma said.
The library was running for seven years in a congested building in a commercial area after an agreement under public private partnership with Pratyusha Associates ran aground, he said.

Former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University K.V. Ramana said students, youth and researchers were left in the lurch for seven years because of the shifting of the library. Lauding the struggle of PGSS, he said it was high time direct or political struggle was launched for achieving the goal of getting the library constructed, he said.
Former MLC MVS Sarma said in the Council he was assured that the construction of the library building would begin in three months but nothing materialised so far.
Former chairman of Zilla Grandhayala Samstha Thota Nagesh during whose tenure the MoU was signed expressed his anguish over the library being deprived of its own site.
