Convert EDB into pleasure of doing business: Suresh Prabhu

AP in the lead in using digital technologies for good governance

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu catches hold of Union Minister Suresh Prabhu for a photo opportunity on the second day of CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu on Sunday praised AP for taking the lead in using digital technologies for good governance and asked CM N. Chandrababu Naidu to convert ease of doing business into pleasure of doing business to enhance happiness index of entrepreneurs.

He was speaking at the plenary session on ‘The reform calculus: Promoting ease of doing business’ here on the second day of three-day CII Partnership Summit and the Sunrise Andhra Pradesh Investment Meet.

Describing Mr. Naidu as a visionary, he said both the Centre and the State were doing good work in ensuring ease of doing good business. He said A.P had ranked No. 1 in the EDB and opined that once it was made into pleasure of doing business, a comprehensive ecosystem could be ensured.

He said the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was making all-out efforts to make India a high-income country in the next two decades. He said India had achieved the landmark of breaking into the top 100 in the World Bank’s EDB indicators. He said India was poised to scale up further among the top 50 countries.

Mr. Prabhu said A.P. had been making use of technologies to usher in a revolution by setting an example for others to replicate its success story. He said the State had become an ideal destination for investors from all over the world.

He said “AP is growing at a fast pace. If you invest here, you will grow with the State and the State will grow with you. It will be mutually beneficial.”

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu earlier made a detailed presentation on the ease of doing business and how they were able to meet global benchmarks. He said the State was ranked No. 1 in the country in EDB and it was ranked 88th rank in meeting various indicators. He said their Vision 2050 envisaged achieving global standards by ensuring hassle-free delivery system.
