A confluence of folk and classical dances, brightly lit-up venues, stalls dotting the sands of R.K. Beach and thousands of visitors milling around the Beach Road – this was the scene on the second day of Visakha Utsav on Saturday. Unlike the inaugural day of the three-day extravaganza, Saturday witnessed a sea of humanity descending at various venues to see the cultural performances and programmes of the day. The apartment complexes along the main venue of the Utsav at the Beach Road were decked up with lights, giving a festive touch to the ambience.

Tribal dance performances by Dhimsa troupe marked the opening of the cultural evening at R.K. Beach. Lambadi, a dance form in which the tribal women dance in harmony to the tunes of the drums played by tribal men, was one of the highlights of the evening.
