Christmas celebrations begin in schools

Christmas celebrations began at Delhi Public School, Visakhapatnam North, on Wednesday with students presenting a number of cultural programmes, including skits and carol singing. Such events not only bring joy and cheer but also enhance the spirit of unity in diversity among school, principal Eswari Prabhakar said. Correspondent Suma Revanth was present.

At Ravindra Bharati School, Dwarakanagar branch, students came dressed up as angels, Santa Claus, and presented the Nativity play. Students spoke about the significance of Christmas and read out from the Bible, principal N.V. Ramani said in a statement.

Pre-schoolers decorated the Christmas Tree with stars and bells, and a cake-baking workshop was conducted for children at Greendale School. Students and teachers rendered traditional Christmas carols.

Principal Mercy Nelson delivered the message. Chairman Sunkari Ravindra, correspondent Vijaya Ravindra, and executive director Divya Das were present.
