Chamber to provide 1,000 dustbins to GVMC

‘Classrooms will be upgraded’

In an attempt to improve sanitation condition in the city, Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) will provide 1,000 dustbins to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC).

A team from business Chamber comprising its president G. Sambavia Rao, vice-president K. Kumar Raja and vice-chairman Mulagada Sudhir met Municipal Commissioner G. Srijana on Wednesday and discussed several vital issues pertaining to the city.

Mr. Sambavia Rao said that the dustbins would be used in the Zone V of the coroporation.

“As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, we want take an active part in the Swachh Bharat campaign. We are planning to upgrade classrooms, provide tables and wash rooms at government schools,” Mr. Rao said.

Road widening

During an interaction with the officials of the Chamber, Ms. Srijana promised to look into problems such as widening of roads, setting up parking yards for trucks and building private bus depots in the Zone 5.
