Residents of Ramakrishnapuram facing eviction following the laying of the Simhachalam corridor of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) on Monday protested any move to evict them without providing them an alternative.

When some GVMC officials went there early in the morning along with two earth moving machines and police, they gathered in strength and opposed the eviction without providing any alternative.

Progressive Organisation for Women State vice-president M. Lakshmi said that the high court had given an order directing GVMC to provide alternative sites to them and the residents were demanding its implementation.
