Biometric devices to mark attendance of civic workers

Biometric devices will soon be introduced to mark attendance for municipal workers. Portable devices will be given to the assistant engineers, who are the secretaries of the respective wards, to mark attendance. An exercise is going on to finalise the process and it will be introduced soon, according to Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu.

On the formation of area committees, he said the secretary, in consultation with the corporator should a five-member committee for water supply, sanitation, street-lighting, works and women empowerment besides a convener for each street.

Potina Mallyapalem to Kommadi in Zone I, Dwarakanagar (Zone II), Dabagardens (Zone III), Dondaparti (Zone IV), Old Gajuwaka (Zone V) and NAD to BRTS Road in Zone VI are the roads proposed in each zone for model development. The idea is to have at least 2 km of straight road with footpaths, electric poles in one single line, plants with parking planned in the approach roads. The formation of the roads was discussed at a meeting the Commissioner had with zone commissioners on Friday. Mr. Ramanjaneyulu on Friday made an inspection of the sub-way and service roads directed that they be completed this month taking the services of additional workers.
