Education Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will meet on Monday to discuss contentious issues, Andhra Pradesh Minister for HRD and Education, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said on Saturday.

He alleged that the Telangana Government has violated the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 in Education by forming its own Council for Higher Education, thus creating problems in counselling for admissions to Engineering and Medical courses.

Now, they have also formed a new Board for Intermediate Education which is bound to create problems for students, the Minister told the media after launching a sapling plantation drive in a Municipal High School in Visakhapatnam.

The meeting would discuss the issues of institutions under the Tenth Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act and modalities of the common exams that have to be conducted under the provisions of the Act, he said.

The Telangana Government cannot unilaterally take decisions on subjects covered under the Act, he added.

Terming Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s verbal attack on his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu as unwarranted and inappropriate, he said that it was only to cover up the non-performance of the TRS Government.

At the time of coming to power, the Telangana Chief Minister had clearly said that Telangana would suffer power shortage for a minimum of three years and now, he was blaming Mr. Naidu for the power crisis, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.

When Telangana can claim a stake in the Krishnapatnam Port, what is wrong in Andhra Pradesh claiming a share in Hyderabad, he asked.

He said that blaming Mr. Naidu for all the failures of Telangana Government exposed the inefficiency of the TRS Government.
