New Commissioner of Police Amit Garg, who took charge on Monday, held a meeting with all senior officers of DCP,ADCP, ACP and Circle-Inspector rank at the commissionerate here on Wednesday.
Though it was said to be an introduction meet, it is learnt that he did some tough talking with his men.
It was learnt that he urged them to focus more on cases related to atrocities against women and take up visible policing.

Sources in the department said that he advised the officers to enhance visible policing at all critical areas such as Beach Road, near colleges and crowded public places, as it would act as a deterrent for criminals.
It is learnt that Mr. Amit Garg has asked the officers concerned dealing with land grabbing cases to speed up investigation and urged them to be more transparent.
