Allotment of iron ore mines to RINL figures at AITUC meet

Allotment of iron ore mines and minimum payment of Rs.15,000 per month to contract workers of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited were discussed at the 41st national conference of All India Trade Union Congress being held at Coimbatore.

Delegates

At the three-day conference attended by a large number of delegates led by D. Adinarayana from Visakhapatnam, issues confronting the employees and contract workers of RINL came up for discussion.

Nearly 2,500 delegates from different States are attending.

NDA flayed

The attempts by the NDA Government to dilute labour laws were strongly criticised.

Agitation

AITUC national vice-president Gaya Singh said they would step up the agitation to press for increase in import duty on steel to help domestic steel industry and implementation of new pension scheme for steel workers.
