To give a facelift to the city and setting a trend in achieving environmental excellence within a limited timeframe, Paryavarana Margadarsi Vaisakhi, an NGO, firms up its action plan to reach out to stakeholders and bring them on board to share responsibilities.

Announcing this at a conference held on Friday, CMD of Vijay Nirman Company and honorary president of the NGO S. Vijay Kumar said the campaign was all set to gather momentum from June first week. “We are considering concrete steps and viable solutions to ensure smooth functioning of the campaign. The seven major projects taken as part of the endeavour will move in a new direction in the next nine months. We intend to team up with administrative heads, politicians, environmentalists, students and people from all walks of life and encourage them to roll out the eco-friendly initiative effectively across 72 wards of the city,” he said.

Solid waste management, scientific plantation of trees, prevention of pollution, conservation of water resources, construction of toilets and eradication of mosquitoes are the focus areas of the campaign. A poster exhibition was held at Visakhapatnam Public Library to explain significant measures that can be considered towards environmental conservation.
