Woman held on charge of smuggling ganja

A 24-year-old woman from West Bengal Jharina Roy and her companion Devraj Samal from Odisha were arrested on charge of smuggling ganja on Saturday.

According to Makavarapalem police, five persons, including Jharina Roy, were carrying 80 kgs of ganja and were proceeding from Narsipatnam to Thallapalem junction when the police intercepted their Honda City car and checked the contents. As soon as the car stopped, the three accused persons Sameer Swain, Tukuna Behera, both from Odisha and Killo Krishna Naidu, a tribal from the agency area fled the spot.

The police are investigating the case.
