Stage set for Sudarsana Yagam

Srighakollpu Sivarama Subrahmanyam, Chairman, AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, and Mahendrada Srinivasacharyulu, head priest of Sri Varaha Lakshminrusimha Swami Kshetram, Simhachala Nagar, Rajahmundry, have said they will be performing Sudarsana Yagam from June 17 to 21.

Addressing a press conference on the temple premises on Tuesday, they said that this was the first time in recent years that the ‘yagam' was being conducted in the temple. Srinivasacharyulu said that on June 17, ‘Shodashayudha' Sri Sudarshna Perumal idol would be installed in the temple. ‘Sudarsanesti' would be conducted on June 18.

‘Lakshmi Nrusimhesti' would be conducted on June 19. The organisers -- Sivarama Subrahmanyam and Gali Ananda Rao couple -- would conduct ‘Hayagreevesti'on June 20. Flower decoration and ‘Poolangi Seva' with one lakh jasmines would be conducted in the evening of June 20 to Lakshmi Nrusimha Swami and goddess Lakshmidevi.

Mr. Srinivasacharyulu said on June 21, the main ritual ‘Poornahuti' would be conducted in the presence of head priests of all important Narasimha Swami temples in the State like Simhachalam, Korukonda, Antarvedi, Yadagiri, Vedadri, Mangalgiri, Penchalakona, Sri Seetharamachandraswmi temple, Bhadrachalam and Ahobilam. Mr. Sivarama Subrahmanyam said the Yagam was being performed for the welfare of humanity.
