Dazzling clothes, pulsating music and soaring festive fervour! The city is caught in the festive exuberance and dandiya frenzy. And the latest craze is disco dandiya nights, where the young and the old to let their hair down and dance through the night.
Vizagites whirled to the beats of the dandiya at disco dandiya events at The Park Hotel and Hotel Green Park. At The Park, the night glittered along with the euphoric crowd who thronged the place with full gusto well past the witching hour.
The Maheshwari Mahila Samiti organized dandiya night at Hotel Green Park on Monday.

The glittering event saw the young and those young at heart trooping in, dressed in traditional, multi-hued chania cholis and lehenga jhabbas, accessorised with tons of jewellery to a very satisfying effect to the intoxicating rhythm of the dance.
Around 300 Marwari women and children participated in the annual festive celebrations.

Initially, it was just the youngsters, who formed a circle and took to the dance floor. Soon, the elders joined in to show their class.
A section of the crowd, though not quite familiar with this popular dance form, nevertheless was keen on not missing out on the fun. Keeping time with the clank of sticks, the dance was quite a spectacle. Popular Bollywood chartbusters kept up the beat and the rhythm of dandiya. The evening also served to foster better relationships.
