Dance drama marks Ugadi celebrations

Sri Ramadasu Charitam dance drama presented by 101 students of Chaitanya English Medium School of BC Road, Gajuwaka, was the highlight of the “Ugadi Vedukalu” organised by VUDA at Gurajada Kalakshetram.

Panchanga Sravanam by Rampa Divakara Sarma presented the annual forecast. Ghantasala’s songs were rendered by T Govind of Ghantasala Sangeetha Kalasala.

The ballet was choreographed by dance teacher Sandeep. Chairman of Chaitanya English Medium School P Suryanarayana Reddy and Principal Udaya Nagasri were felicitated for encouraging the children.

In the traditional “Ugadi Kavitaganam,” poems were rendered by the President’s Best Teacher awardee Garimella Nageswara Rao, auto driver Akkireddy Vasu, class IX student N. Pranathi, postman Moka Ratna Raju, ex-serviceman Meda Mastan Reddy, Sub-Registrar B. Nageswara Rao, Railway Guard Gundana Joga Rao, data entry operator T Neeraja, Superintendent of Government Hospital for the Mentally Challenged M. Vijaya Gopal, children specialist M. Surya Kumari, Assistant Labour Officer M Padmavathi, P.K Durga Prasad, A. Janardhanam and Balu rendered the poems.

The traditional Ugadi Patchadi was distributed to the audience. Ministers P Balaraju, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Chairman of AP Hindi Academy Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, VUDA Secretary G.C. Kishore Kumar, Mavoori Venkataramana of the CMR group, Daspalla Hotels Managing Director M. Raghavendra Rao , advocate J. Prithviraj, actor ‘Kallu’ Chidambaram and others participated. VUDA PRO B. Prabhakara Reddy conducted the programme.

The Bharateeya Telugu Samiti started “Telugu Vaari Prati Inta Pedda Baalasiksha” programme on the occasion of Ugadi to inspire people to promote and nurture Telugu.

Government Whip Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao flagged off the publicity vehicle-Telugu Vaaradhi at Sampath Vinayaka temple. The vehicle sells Pedda Baalasiksha copies to people.

The Bala Vikas Foundation organised Ugadi celebrations at its child labour school. Chairman of Karuna International K.V. Ramana gave away prizes to winners of competitions held on the eve of Ugadi. Secretary of BVF Narava Prakasa Rao presided.

The Seetammadhara Rail Vihar Flat Owners Welfare Association conducted fancy dress, dance and songs competitions for children. President of the association Raman Murthy gave away the prizes. Former executive committee members P. Joga Rao, K. Rangacharyulu, P.S. Prakasa Rao, D.V. Raju and R.V. Ramana were felicitated.

The Samaikyandhra Students JAC and Yuvajana JAC celebrated the festivaland felicitated 256 persons, its president A. Kishore Kumar said.
