Creativity of students in photography to fore

Observation skills and alertness will make them unique, says Anil Risal Singh

Photography enthusiasts in the city got together to celebrate 177 years of photography with World Photography Day on Friday. Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan celebrated the day with passion as students brought out their creative talents in a photography exhibition.

Noted photographer Anil Risal Singh, president of Federation of Indian Photography, was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the students, he advised the budding photographers to develop observation skills, alertness to make them unique in the field of photography.

Professional photographer B.K. Agarwal, Fellow of India International Photographic Council, appreciated the school management for initiating and promoting the art of photography among students.

The Hindu C.V. Subrahmanyam told the students that understanding the digital camera is important to get good pictures. Senior news photographer of Andhra Jyothi M.Vijaya Raghunadha Rao was felicitated on the occasion of World Photography Day.

Four different themes

The students exhibited their photographs on four different themes – ‘Vizag Zoological Park’, ‘Portrait of Rural Women’, ‘Vizag @ Night’ and ‘Patterns’.

Visakha Camera Club organised a talk by wildlife photographer Rathika Ramasamy and Anil Risal Singh at AU Platinum Jubilee Guest House. Ramasamy explained about the nuances of wildlife photography and her journey into the field of photography. The two speakers gave a presentation of their works. As part of the celebrations, a photo exhibition of noted photographers in the city was exhibited. AU Registrar V. Uma Maheswara Rao, who inaugurated the photo exhibition, mooted the idea of starting a post graduate diploma course in photography.

Earlier, Ramasamy inaugurated a photo exhibition at Little Angels School and interacted with the school students and chairman of the school Venumohan Manga.

On Saturday, a field workshop on wildlife photography will be conducted by Ramasamy at Indira Gandhi Zoological Park from 7.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Professional Photographers and Viderographers Association organised a photo exhibition at the District Library. Noted poet and film lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja inaugurated the exhibition.

The Vizag Journalists Forum felicitated veteran photo journalists K. Bhaskara Rao and Palla Raja Rao.
