CM opens multi-speciality hospital

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated an orthopaedic super speciality hospital here on Saturday.

The Amulya Hospital will deal with all orthopaedic problems and has computer navigated knee-replacement, spine surgery, arthoscopy, etc., and imported equipment, the orthopaedic surgeons who have started the hospital, Y. Seetha Rama Prasad, B. Leela Prasad and M. Murali Mohan, have said.

Along with in-house specialists, a panel of visiting consultants from cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore etc, will be visiting regularly.

Container theatres

Mr. Naidu also inaugurated three “container cinema theatres” designed and set up by the STBL Projects at a cost of Rs. 1.6 crore as part of the Make in Andhra Pradesh programme. Each theatre which was built without using cement, is “mobile” and can be transported, particularly to villages where people can view films at a low cost, the promoters said.

Before starting his tour, Mr. Naidu met a four-year old girl Meesala Indraja of Rajam, along with her parents and a social worker and assured her to help in treatment of a very rare disease she is suffering from. Her head alone weighs 25 kg. After sanctioning Rs. 1 lakh to the child, Mr. Naidu asked Collector N. Yuvaraj to provide her medical care in a city hospital.
