Awareness programme held on TDS, TCS

An awareness programme on tax deduction at source (TDS) and tax collected at source (TCS) highlighting the importance of accurate filing without any delay was conducted by the Income Tax Department on Friday.

TDS and TCS constitute more than 36 per cent of the total tax collections of the Income Tax Department. Joint Commissioner of Income tax (TDS), TDS Range, Y. Sesha Srinivas presided over the awareness programme attended by 700 employers and other heads of organisations.

Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS) K. Ravi and Income Tax Officers (TDS) D. Sandhya Rani and K. Tulasi Das participated.
