Aspirants for army recruitment told not to trust agents

Candidates appearing for Army recruitment rally at Sir Vizzi Stadium here have been asked not to depend on agents/middlemen because the recruitment process is being conducted as per guidelines.

Additional Joint Collector M. Rama Rao, who is monitoring the recruitment process, said the process was fully transparent and selections to various posts would depend solely on candidates' performance and physical fitness and asked them not to trust middlemen. The candidates who qualified in Monday's test have been divided into groups each comprising 200 members for the 1600m run. R. Tyagaraju, convenor of the rally, quoting Army officials, said 600 to 700 aspirants are likely to be selected in the run.

On Tuesday, 2,683 candidates from Srikakulam to Krishna districts and Yanam have appeared for soldier (nursing assistants) and for soldier (technical) from Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. Of them 1,619 aspirants for soldier (technical) and 652 for soldier (nursing assistants) were qualified in height and verification of affidavits. He said the run would be conducted on Wednesday morning in addition to selections for soldier (general duty) from Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, and Krishna districts.
