APIIC Chairman S. Sivarama Subrahmanyam has assured that urban housing problem will be solved under the Rajiv Awas Yojna (RAY) programme. He said the city would get 10,000 houses under the scheme and MLA and MP were trying hard to expedite the process, he said while participating in Rachabanda programme here on Saturday.
After implementation of the RAY programme, there would be no housing problem in the city.
He said that during Rachabanda 10,000 new ration cards would be issued.

Those eligible would get the cards along with pensions for the disabled, widows and old-age people till February 12.
He asked the women who crossed 60 years of age to join ‘Abhayahastam' scheme to get a pension of Rs. 500 to Rs. 2000 from the government.

Under the scheme, if any member dies after enrolling themselves as a member, insurance would be given to the members of the family.
The APIIC Chairman said that local issues would be given priority during Rachabanda programme.
Tahasildar S. Mallibabu, Additional Commissioner Sai Srikanth, MHO Usman Ali Khan, TPO Priyamvada and corporators participated in the programme along with the APIIC Chairman.
