Forty three graduates of the first batch of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University BA-LLB course would receive their degrees at the convocation to be held here on Friday, University Vice-Chancellor RGB Bhagavath Kumar announced.
Chief Justice of India Justice H.L. Dattu would deliver the convocation address, Chief Justice of High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for State of Telangana and State of Andhra Pradesh Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Supreme Court Judge Justice N.V. Ramana would be guests of honour, the Vice-Chancellor along with Registrar P. Sudhakar told the media here on Monday. Top academic performers in different subjects would be given away 10 gold medals and three prizes on the occasion.
DSNLU has become the 16 participating university of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), the V-C said outlining the achievements of the University that was established in 2009 as AP Law University and is now known as DSNLU. From next academic year admissions to the University would be through CLAT, he explained.

Construction of University’s own campus at Sabbavaram is likely to be completed by end 2015 and some new courses and academic programmes would be offered after shifting to the new campus. The construction is being taken up from the savings and annual block grants received by the University. The State Government has sought a grant of Rs.120 crore for the construction from the 14 Finance Commission and if that comes through the University would be able to complete the works without hassles, he explained.
DSNLU is the only university that offers its students the option of studying a semester in four other National law universities – National Law University Bangalore, National Law University Kolkata, Rajiv Gandhi National Law University Patiala and Chanakya National Law University Ranchi – the V-C said.
