18,000 to take part in Vizag Navy Marathon

It will be held in four categories on Nov. 17

With just two weeks to go for the sixth edition of ‘Vizag Navy Marathon’, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) officials released the race T-shirts and finishers’ medal at an event here on Tuesday. The marathon is scheduled to be organised on November 17.

Race director N. Muralidhar said the event is being conducted in four categories—Full Marathon (42 km) at 4.15 a.m., half marathon (21 km) at 5.15 a.m., 10 km run at 6.15 a.m. and 5-km run at 7 a.m.

Around 18,000 runners from various countries are expected to participate in the event, he said.

“The theme for this year is Reduce-Reuse-Recycle. Race T-shirts will be given without plastic cover and there will be ban on use of any pollutants such as plastic bottles, sachets, single-use flex and etc,” he said.

Registrations for the marathon can be done on

com or at Fresh Choice outlets in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram till November 10.

Registered participants can collect event merchandise from the marathon expo at Fresh Choice, Asilmetta, on November 15 and 16 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

All runs will be flagged off and finished near Vishwapriya Hall on Beach Road.
