When a viewer looks at a work and gets the same idea as that of the artist, it is the ultimate achievement for the artist, noted painter Bharti Singh of New Delhi has said.

The works should communicate clearly the thought of the artist. She explained how each of her paintings in the series ‘Devotion’, which were on display at the CSN Patnaik Art Gallery till Tuesday, had some narratives of Lord Krishna and goddess Shakti.

They actually did not say anything different from what we understand of these gods and goddesses. In her works, she connected animals with devotion.

Shakti is the ultimate form of energy and She is an epitome of peace, though She manifests herself in different forms. The different manifestations were delineated using masks, whereas the original form had a peaceful expression on Her face. Further, Shakti is in total control of her vehicle, the tiger, which is shown subdued like a cat.

Krishna is the life force within everyone.

In another series Krishna is holding cages with open doors, indicating the power of Lord Krishna to open the floodgates of highest intellectual and creative capabilities.
