YSR Congress’days are numbered: JC

September 21, 2014 11:38 am | Updated 11:53 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Telugu Desam Party MP and former Minister J.C. Diwakar Reddy has predicted that the main Opposition YSR Congress will cease to exist in political arena after six months.

Asked about the presence of two YSR Congress MPs in the meeting of the TDP and BJP MPs, he said several leaders and cadre were ready to quit the party. “I was the first one to predict Congress’ rout after bifurcation. The YSR Congress will survive after six months,” he said.

He demanded that YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy announce a clear stand on Polavaram project including the integration of the submergence mandals with Andhra Pradesh. Though there was no controversy surrounding the Polavaram project, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy was trying to provoke people of some mandals against the TDP government for political gains.

YSR Congress, not the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, was behind the disturbances witnessed at the recent public hearing relating to Polavaram project. “The YSR Congress is adopting double standard for political gains. Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy should not rake up controversy relating to Polavaram, the project beneficial to Rayalaseema region, for political gains,” he said.
