Workshop on AMRUT held

AP’s Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Karikal Valaven on Monday conducted a State-level stakeholder consultation workshop attended by chairpersons, mayors, commissioners and chief engineers representing their respective local bodies in city. The workshop was conducted to finalise the Service Level Improvement Plans (SLIP) under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) for the State and also finalise the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) for 2016-17.

Department higher ups, including Urban Governance expert M. Paasada Rao, Public Health CE Moses Kumar, DTCP Raghu, retired DTCPs B.R. Purushottam Reddy and APUFIDC executive director U. Venkataramaiah, along with engineers of APUFIDC presented various aspects of urban services and its complexities.

New methods of reforms like green cities, rain water harvesting, renewable energy and solar energy applications and low cost sewage treatment process such as Soil Bio Technology developed by IIT Mumbai for sustainable development were discussed.
