Woman jumps into Krishna River, rescued

A 32-year-old woman allegedly attempted suicide by jumping into Krishna River from Prakasham Barrage on Thursday. On receiving information, the Fire and Police officials rushed to the spot and rescued the woman.

She was admitted to a hospital and her condition is stable. The reason for the suicide attempt is not known immediately.

The victim is a native of Tadikonda village in Guntur District. Fire personnel from AP State Disaster Response and Fire Services, One Town Station, saved the woman and shifted her to a hospital, said Station Fire Officer Srinivas Rao.
