The Advisor to the government (Forensics and Allied Police Support Services) and founder of Truth Labs, an independent forensic science laboratory, on Sunday said forensic reports in three cases were withheld in the larger interests of the nation.
Dr. Gandhi, after receiving the prestigious Dr. Pinnamaneni Smt. Seethadevi Foundation annual award here, addressed the gathering touching upon all aspects of his professional and personal life.
Saying he was breaking the silence for the first time, Dr. Gandhi took the audience through numerous cases his organisation had dealt with throughout the years and why truth in certain cases had been withheld.

“In the JMM bribery case truth was found but justice has not been delivered. Such dichotomies in my life made me continue experiment with truth even after service and I set up Truth Labs after selling my property,” he said.
Speaking about religious cases, on record yet claiming they were confidential, Dr. Gandhi said, “We hesitated to give the case report because some truths should not be revealed in the larger interest of the country’s well being. If we reveal the truth, across the world unrest will be created in the religion or make people have a low opinion of it. [We] did not reveal truth in three cases.
“We refused to take up a case of forgery of the signature of the then President who earlier served as the chairman of the Indian Statistical Institute in the capacity of Finance Minister because truth should only serve the larger human interest,” said Dr. Gandhi who is also advisor to Jammu & Kashmir and West Bengal. He said the Truth Labs had cracked the case of a famous Swamiji who was allegedly killed with cadmium and his hair clippings and speeches were found recently. He also explained how reports on the O.J. Simpson case were not revealed.

Dr. Gandhi said how the Truth Labs had solved cases in a range of areas from fidelity to multi-crore life insurance frauds using DNA and other technology and said they were going to have most advanced DNA phenotyping technology soon.
Dr. Gandhi credited the most part of his success and the award to his mother Ranganayakamma who instilled the ideal to be truthful at any cost.
Veteran folk and Burra Katha artist Karnati Lakshmi Narasaiah was also honoured with the annual award.
Mr. Narasaiah, who is in his mid-90s, expressed concern over the diminishing patronage for folk arts. He said people were not just the root of materialistic creation but also the source of art.
Foundation chairman managing trustee G. Nageswara Rao, managing trustee Dr. C. Nageswara Rao, Dr. Pinnemaneni Venkateswara Rao’s son P. Rama Krishna and others were present.
